heh. it's usually me who people are telling stories about the day after the company party. i am glad to say that this is not the case today...
last night, our HR person put together a really nice new-years party. everyone was having a really good time. however, my baby doesn't really enjoy such events (and i felt like i was torturing him the whole time he was sitting there) and he had to leave early to go meet a friend anyway. so after having consumed a whole lot of penuts and cashews, some sushi and beer - we left relatively early. i walked him part of the way to the train and then i went home to sleep.
i cannot even begin to express how much i love that he doesn't really drink. it makes me drink a lot less. hell, i have hardly been drinking at all these last few months.
anyway, today it appears that i am (probably) the only one without some sort of a hang over. ohhh... how times have changed =D
it's difficult to remember that xmas even exists in a country that really doesn't celebrate it. either way, i wanted to wish all of you who do a very merry xmas!

so i'm not quite done paying for my nyc excursion yet and golan and i already have another one planned. that's right, it's going to be amsterdam for queensday again this year! i'm super excited for several reasons... 1. i had totally fallen in love with amsterdam last year, 2. queensday was super fun, and 3. this time i get to share my experience with golan =)
we've already booked and confirmed our accomodations; we have flights booked but are waiting to see if we can find anything cheaper; all that remains is to tell our respective bosses about the time off that we need and we'll be good to go =D
for my entire adult life, ever since i've been living on my own (and had an obsession for black furniture) - i've always used some form of paint to make unfinished pieces into what i wanted them to be.
until today.
the other day, golan and i went to get some stuff for the apartment. i had wanted to put up a shelf over our desk so that we could get rid of something that was under the desk, which we were using to put computer-related crap on. now usually, home center has black shelving. i've bought it there in the past. but this time they did not. so i had to get an unfinished wooden shelf, which i said i would paint. then golan suggested i use spray. yea, like the stuff that's used to put graffiti up.
seriously, i'm not sure why i hadn't done that till now.
earlier, i took the shelf and the can of spray downstairs and the whole job was done in under two minutes. and the drying process is about fifteen. unlike the whole painting process that takes longer. and the drying process, which then usually takes up to twenty four hours.
not sure why i the thought of doing this hadn't even entered my mind in the past. heh.

when i stop to think about it, as i do quite often, i simply cannot believe how lucky i am. i am completely in love with someone who feels the exact same way about me. not only is that still a strange concept for me, but it's even more perfect (and mind-blowing) since we are actually sharing our lives with one another. on all levels.

at the very moment, golan is either preparing for or has begun work on the final phase of his sleeve.
i had told him that i was excited for him, since i know how the adrenaline rush feels in the hours and moments before starting the work. but frankly, while i still have about a billion ideas for new (and continued) ink, i have really just become lazy about it. or perhaps it's that i prefer spending my cash on other things for now.
one day i shall complete my star wars piece. i even have the artist picked out and have spoken to him in the past about doing this. but i have neglected to collect the necessary material to get started. i've been way too busy with other aspects of my life.
all of this aside, i am really rather looking forward to seeing how golan's work comes out. i know he's really been looking forward to this for a long time and that this was a birthday gift to himself... speaking of which, said birthday will take place on this coming sunday. celebrations will be underway starting tomorrow =D
so last night i did actually head out to queens to hang out with magal. unfortunately, i was too busy hanging out that i actually forgot to take any pictures there =/ anyway, it was great seeing him. he's still using the amazing black comforter i left him last year. i miss that thing. lol. the neighborhood and his apartment were so familiar that it felt like i had been there just last week... heh.
having crashed at magal's place, i was then able to go visit target this morning. where i bought even more things that i don't have where to pack. following my short visit to target, i rushed back to the city to meet up with buck. i dragged him all the way out to the west side, in the middle of nowhere, to see alex grey's gallery. i would have never thought to do this myself, but i was given this mission by golan last night, for which i am quite thankful. it was pretty amazing and i managed to take quite a few photos (had to be with my phone though, cuz they said it was not allowed. i cheated =P) which will be uploaded only once i get back home.
i walked all the way out there and back. about a good fourty minutes in each direction. i think.
now i'm actually going to take a shower and chill indoors for a bit. i'll have to manage some creative packing before heading out to dinner with kristen and sandra. then i shall be heading back over to adam's to hang out with him, nicole and mike.
tomorrow morning i will be picked up by the super shuttle thingie and finally heading back home.
i've been venutring out as much as i can, but the weather here is impossibly cold. while i've been trying to keep my plans and go out to get all the things i set out to buy, i have also been hiding indoors a lot. it's really too fucking cold. according to kristen, it's even colder today. so far all i've done today was add more photos to my nyc 2007 album.
last night i met up with crystal again. we headed over to shade, where laurie bartends. we had a couple of drinks and were soon joined by henry, too. it was an early night. by the time i got back to the apartment, i was ready to pass out. which i did.
today i shall be heading up to midtown to meet my brother for lunch. and later i hope to be going to see magal.
seriously, i miss my local friends a whole lot all of the time, while in tel-aviv, but i do not miss the city one bit. this week has been enough. i just wish i could take my friends home with me.
oh, i've also managed to get a cold.

i can't believe i've been away from golan for so long =(
so i didn't end up going to otto's the other night. after walking around all day, i was too tired to go anywhere else and i ended up passing out in front of the tv. as a result, i was up really early on sunday morning. i woke to the sounds of shovels. sure enough, as ruthie had mentioned the day before, it was snowing. it was also too soon to head out on a sunday since not only was no one i know going to be awake at that hour but shops don't open that early on sundays...
later on, though, i did go out for more shopping. which was followed by a late lunch with michael. then, after warming up at home, kristen and i went out for dinner and drinks @ three of cups.
today was lunch with crystal and sandra. in a bit, i hope to be going for a pedicure with kristen which should be followed by another visit with crystal and then a visit to adam and nicole. which i hope alison joins me for.
damn, this space heater is making me sweat.

last night was fun. we did as i planned and went to see the funeral crashers @ crash mantion. i ran into a few people whom i did not know were going to be there. the show was good but once it was done, ruthie, sandra and i headed over to the knitting factory for some goth night @ which i had no idea vulgaras was playing. now i don't really like them, but i was really excited to see dave. there, too, i saw a bunch of people whom i have not planned on seeing last night... then ruthie and i had enough and went to grab something to eat at odessa. then it was really time to go home.
other that that, in the last couple of days i've been doing a lot of shopping. i've bought so much crap, i'm glad i brought the extra bag with me to take all of it home.
it's really fucking cold.
kristen's cat is finally getting used to my presence. she's even playing around in my things right now =)
tonight i should be seeing dave again, mike and alison over at otto's.
