* unpacked and repacked the boxes that have to be shipped cuz i had to list all the items inside for customs.
* labeled and put postage on said boxes. now they're waiting for me to get them to a post office.
* packed for my trip on thursday (including homework i'm going to have to do).
* made a date with taryn to go hiking.
* prepared for the presentation i have to give tomorrow.

* i have purchased the postage for the two boxes i already have packed and ready to send.
* i am in need of another, new suit case and a few more boxes for shipping.
* i gave my lovely roommate some shelving he wanted, which i have not used since he moved in.
* tomorrow magal and i are going to transfer most of my kitchen stuff to his apartment, since i don't really use any of it anyway.
* my last credit card is finally paid off.
* i need to get rid of the rest of my videos, so if anyone wants them - i will be giving them away. however, if you want them, you actually have to come to my apartment in brooklyn. i'm too lazy to drag them anywhere so i'd rather just throw them out, if i have to. let me know, k? =)
* tomorrow i will be finishing up a second (out of five) class this semester, by giving my presentaion. i don't think i am entirely ready, but this professor rocks and she will assist me this evening.
* another one of my finals already partly done.
* does anyone want a few wall-mounted candle holders? i will not be taking those with me, either.
* thursday is VEGAS!! wheeeeeeeeee!

dilema
music: silence mood: *yawn*
yesterday i spent the day doing absolutely nothing. yes, i am aware that the weather was gorgeous and that i should have been outside doing something but i was in the mood for no such thing. i just wanted to be lazy (i'm rather good at that).
however, there are two more days left to my weekend, and while i know the weather is supposed to be crappy - i still think i need to get out and do something. anything. i'm not refering to going out later tonight, but rather something that can only be achieved during daylight. i have some reading to do, but i'll have that done rather quickly. the problem is that all of my local friends appear to be rather lame in that area. no one ever wants to go anywhere or do anything. this makes me miss martha even more. she was the only one who would drop everything and just go where ever. not to mention that it also makes me want to escape this place even sooner than i have planned. gah!
ps - my neighbors are either having sex or their kids are jumping up and down on their bed. oy.

a friend (of about 12-13 years) i lost track of about three or four years ago, randomly emailed me the other day... i had been trying to find him for a while now, but just didn't have his current contact info. needless to say that i was absolutely thrilled!! this man was my best friend for the longest time (and i had a huge crush on him for a while, back when we first met).
hooray for reconnecting with good friends!
also, can the weather please just either stick to getting warmer or at least not get colder again? i fucking can't stand having to wear layers! blech. k, thanks.

Sunday, April 16th
last night
music: nothing mood: it's shower time
yesterday pretty much kicked ass. i wasn't really expecting anything, cuz i've had really bad luck with just having a good time around here lately, so perhaps that made things even better.
my day started out visiting julie. we met up somewhere in the city, where she came to pick me up and drove us back to her apartment in brooklyn. it's difficult to explain what we do when we hang out... we really don't do much of anything. except drink and hang out. heh. she usually takes me to all the trendy little spots in brooklyn (yea, apparently there are quite a few of those) and we drink, while i try repeatedly to convince her not to smoke yet another cigarette. yesterday was pretty much the same, except i was there to fix her computer as well. good times. later, when she was trying to drive me home - although she is pretty familiar with brooklyn, we got lost and drove down about a million unknown streets before finding our way back here. lol.
after that was accomplished, i sat here for a while, meaning to take a nap. but that never happened cuz i was caught up in a conversation online =D and finally, after a serious debate - i decided that heading out to hang out with adam and nicole was, in fact, a rather good idea. at first we sat around in the apartment and ended up watching bubble boy. later, adam and i were yapping about how boring the city is and how there really isn't anything to do, when we decided that we needed to take nicole for a visit to the crap cave (where oddly enough, i still don't have to pay a cover even though i haven't been there in nearly a year). we had our drinks, danced around to some silly music, said hi to some people and generally just had fun. perhaps that's because none of us really thought we would =P we weren't there for long, and headed back down to 7A for some post drinking food.
i really do need to hang out with those two a lot more before i leave. they rock =)
by the time i got home, i was so trashed - i'm not sure how i managed even the brief conversation i had online, before passing out in everything i was wearing (shoes included).

de-blackening
music: the idiot in the workspace next to ours mood: things are happening...
as some of you might have noticed, i've been going through a lot of changes. things that will ultimately lead me to a better, happier place in my life...
i am about to graduate from school with a degree in media and am considering grad school in israel
i have been counting down the weeks/months until my departure
i have a bunch of confirmed and tentative plans for travel
things are generally moving in the direction i wish them to
within these changes, i have reconnected to parts of my (post military) life that i once thought were no longer important, and have been trying to combine who i was with who i am. in this process, i have come to realize that the black-only thing was, in fact, just a phase. not because i will no longer be wearing mostly black attire and not because it doesn't appeal to me anymore. it does. however, i have been trying to disconnect myself from this funk that i have been in on-and-off for the last few years, and the physical is just as important as the emotional. as such, there will be changes in geography, state of mind and appearance.
on a related note, yesterday was a day for shopping. spring break has officially begun and i had no classes. so what better than to spend money on things i technically really don't need? lol. after work i stayed in the general area and managed to purchase several non black shirts, a pair of jeans and another pair of converse. this time red.
shopping is fun and i look amusing in color =D

school-related drivel
music: people yapping mood: anxious
so i registered for a couple of classes. they ended up being shakespeare survey and intro to cinema. they will be taking up most of my time for six weeks, starting on june first. my daily schedule monday through friday will be 10-5 at work and then 5:45-9:25 in school. fun? lol.
anyway, that's done.
today i was told by the head of the media department that i can actually drop off my graduation audit for her to sign. so that will be one less thing for me to worry about...

in other news, find it utterly amazing that the system that CUNY uses for registration purposes always crashes during registration. you'd think they'd be smart enough to properly maintain and/or upgrade the system that's meant to handle thousands of students... especially when they no longer accept registration by phone.

i register for my last two classes EVER (well, for this degree) on monday.
since i am constrained by certain time limits, and have already taken all of the interesting classes that are offered in my available time - it looks like i'll be taking African Civilization and Shakespeare Survey. lol.
i suppose i've taken worse things, when i was trying to fulfill the various requirements. but these are electives - they're supposed to be easy. oh well.
