since i have not seen ola in about a billion years, we decided to take our chances and try to meet for coffee this morning. it was a short meeting, but i miss her so much that even a little was better than nothing. hopefully tomorrow we might get the chance to hang out again. this time after work =D
in other news, while i was totally planning on going out for a bit last night - for a friend's birthday, i ended up staying in with golan. the poor thing is so miserable, i just couldn't go out and leave him alone. instead, i stayed with him and made sure he had everything he needed. i love this boy. it's rather difficult to see him so miserable =/

early morning
music: nothing mood: peaceful
for the last couple of days i've had to wake up early to go run an errand before work. on both days, i managed to finish up rather quickly and was then able to come into work early. that's twice this week that i've been in the office from slightly before 9am (for the record, i'm supposed to be in at 9:30).
now, i'm not taking this to mean that i can now leave a half an hour early; but rather that i simply have some quiet time to take care of things before stuff gets insane in here, the way it inevitably does every day. not to mention that it also just feels good to be up and awake at these hours. don't know why, but i've always been a morning person.
on a completely different note, my poor golan has become sick. he was feeling a little off yesterday at work and for the rest of yesterday his throat simply got worse. i left him sleeping at home for him to decide whether or not he's able to get up to go to work this afternoon. what he needs is some more sleep, hot tea with honey, the cough syrup i bought on my way to work and for me to be at home with him to make sure he's got everything he wants... poor baby.

just stuff
music: nothing mood: okie
the weekend was super lazy. aside from going out on thursday (and golan having to work), we really did nothing but sit around at home =P
i'm waiting for nicer weather so we can do a little walking around tel-aviv. we were actually going to do exactly that, yesterday after golan got home for work. but the nice weather that we were having in the morning managed to vanish by that time. oh well.

hosts, servers, applications, oh my!
music: nothing mood: just fine =)
i think it's time i move over to wordpress. i've been meaning to for a long time, but have been super-lazy about it. plus, there are all kinds of issues with my hosts.
i think that once i get everything straightened out, i will (finally) be getting my ass in gear.
i woke up this morning, when golan had to be up for work. aka 4:50am. aka the ass-crack of dawn. i was going to help him with something and then i fully intended on going back to sleep for about three hours. instead, all kinds of thoughts raced through my head; things i wanted to look up the day before but hadn't gotten around to. things i had at home, that i couldn't use at work to help me look said stuff up. and of course, the cat was running around like crazy kittens do.
so here i am. it's 8am, when i was originally going to get up. and i am a complete zombie.
oh, golan took this in eilat (in other news, we were in eilat for the weekend. it did rock.):
ever since i've lived here, i've wanted to change the whole shower-head/holder/thingie...
*for those of you who live outside of israel (mostly, i guess) - this will not make much sense since you usually have the shower-head coming right out of the wall. here, on the other hand, you have to put up a bar that holds the removable shower-head and usually has a soap-dish attached to it, too.*
anyway, on my way home i came across an open hardware store that had various different ones in the window. i walked in, consulted the shop-owner and bought one.
now, you have to understand that unlike what one would think - the bar size isn't adjustable like, say, a shower curtain or a regular curtain rod is. they all come in a fixed size. and there is no standard size, either. you have to know what size it is you're looking for before purchasing one. that, or drill yet another hole in your wall.
i bought one based on my visual guess.
first thing i did when i came in was check to see if the sizes matched. and they aaaaaalmost did. they're like 1cm off. which meant that it was drilling time.
long story... well, long - i now have a new shower thingie up in my shower. it's nice and shiny. and not rusty at all. much like the one i just took down was =P
last night i skipped out on a visit to the bloom with golan. i was way too tired and practically asleep when he was ready to head out. natrually, though, that means that today i am wide awake and ready to take on the last day of this week =D
tonight our plans include a visit from a few of golan's friends, followed by (what has become) our weekly visit to the alternative. then on friday we're heading over to perdes hana to visit with his family and friends.
so it's official. golan and i will be celebrating valentine's day at a hotel in eilat. i'm not really one to celebrate any holidays, much less the silly ones. but it's been a loooooong time since i've even had someone to do silly things with, i figured it was worth commemorating the event with something entertaining. besides, i haven't been to eilat in just about a decade. so this will definitely be amusing...
truth be told, i'm really just excited that we're going away for the weekend =)
