so what's new and exciting? --- ----- absolutely nothing.
i can't really complain about this since nothing is going horribly wrong, either. everything is fine. work is stressful but ok - i still really like my job. i have a new monitor at work (i seriously can't believe how horrible the other one was - i didn't notice until i had it switched). my assistant appears to be working out well. my parents are doing well. i have zero drama in my life right now; it's been like this for a while. i have some wonderful friends. i'm having serious thoughts on what i want to do travel-wise. i have still yet to get inked since i've been here cuz my money always seems to be allocated to other necessities and priorities. and i thought i had gained weight but it turns out that did no such thing.
i'm sure there are a bunch of other un-exciting things i forgot to mention... but now that you know that i'm alive and doing pretty well - i will move on with my daily routine. later i will have to decide (as i do every day) whether or not i want to go home after work or go visit some friends.
i really am very lazy.

i finally get an assistant again! i could not be happier (well, i could - but this is really good)! i managed to interview a few people and didn't feel like going through 928756045 more resumes. the job isn't hard, if one is able to handle working under me. i can't wait for her to start!!

advice from a travel agent

this morning i spoke with the company's travel agent about some business related flights etc. as i picked up the phone i noticed that she was all chattery and what appeared to be slap-happy. upon inquiring about her mood, she said that it was probably due to lack of sleep. to which i responded with something like 'i wish i could do that.' so we got into a conversation about how i prefer being lazy and how much i like to sleep.
her conclusion (as many people who know me have concluded before) was that i was never going to find a suitable partner sitting at home doing nothing. and it's not like i don't already know this....
however, our conversation turned into something really silly and it really made me laugh.
i do love the people i work with =D
on a related note - i have about a billion things i want to do tonight. i'm not sure how i'm either going to make them all happen or choose which one is the one i want to do most.
so my mommy has recently started reading my blog, which i think is really cute.
today i received an email from her asking why i haven't been updating. and yes, i know i have been neglecting ye-old-blog, but i have been seriously busy. either that or lazy.

my trip to europe was very short but nothing short of amazing. one thing i did not get to update here is that my boss had decided to send me to amsterdam 'on my way' to berlin to do some work. and while it was only going to be for one day and for business purposes, i was extremely excited to be going to amsterdam for the first time ever, too.
amsterdam was, umm... interesting. heh. i arrived in the morning and got a cab to the hotel at which i was to stay. but not before calling ronen to see if he was available to hang out later on. it was rainy. since the cab driver left me off in the wrong place and i had to walk a bit, i arrived slightly on the moist side. this didn't take away one bit from how excited i was just to be there. i did my work and was finished by about 15:30, so i headed out to meet ronen. getting there wasn't all too complicated. he walked me to see the studio he works at and then right back out to his coffee-shop of choice. what followed is pointless to discuss. i will just say it kicked ass! however, at some point a got a call from work telling me i had to be back at a place with a fax. so ronen took me over to see the dam for a minute and then told me where to get on the tram. the driver wasn't very helpful and i ended up missing my stop. so here i was, stoned off my ass, trying to figure out my way back to a hotel in a city i had never been in. it was fun =D after i finished my work for the day, i just stayed in and got some rest for my flight to berlin.
i forgot to mention that the flight coming into amsterdam had a nightmarish landing, during which the lady across the isle from me puked on the floor. i was told that a bumpy landing is always the case in amsterdam. i guess i'll keep that in mind for next time. also, the flight from schiphol to berlin wasn't much nicer. it was a short flight with crappy weather. once again, i sat not too far from a puky lady. oh well.
once i landed in berlin, it really wasn't too difficult to find my way to the hostel. i made my way there, but was too early to check in. instead, i gave them my suitcase and went right back out to alexanderplatz, where the front-desk receptionist recommended i go to walk around. i found some cool stores and amused myself until it was time to catch the train back to the hostel. as i was approaching, ruthie called to tell me she had landed and was on her way, too. i don't remember all of the details from the trip. i do remember that we did a lot of shopping, went on a guided walking tour of the city and partied our asses off on one of the nights. i will let the pictures i took tell the rest of the story.
oh yea, i'll be posting those as soon as i get back home this evening.

i miss...

...kristen, sandra, martha, adam, nicole, crystal and ruthie.
so as it turns out, i will not be staying with that friend of mine after all. the poor thing is swamped with guests from here until eternity. but i have plans to see him, since it's literally been years. instead, i will be staying at a really cute hostel recommended to me by a good friend. because i completely trust her judgment on this, i booked a room without looking any further. not only that, but my dear friend lucid will be joining me for the duration and we are looking into all the touristy things we can come up with. it does help that the hostel we will be staying at is located very conveniently to a main train station and lots of shopping =D
other than that, i will not be flying alone. the friend who got me to come along to begin with will be taking the same flight as i am (there and back), which should keep both of us sufficiently entertained.
i'm really fucking excited!

fucking finally

i did it! i bought a ticket to berlin. i will be traveling with one friend and hopefully staying with another. however, the living arrangements have not really been solidified yet. worse comes to worse i'll stay at a hostel.
for last night i had planned to go to that bar i mentioned previously. i figured it couldn't be bad since i go there anyway and i know the people who work there and frequent the place. however, after taking a nap before i planned on getting up and ready - i did not feel at all like going to a bar. it just seemed like too much effort. instead, i headed over to a friend's house. he too had no special plans so we figured that a bottle of wine and some movies and/or a gaming console would do the trick.
long story short - we had great conversation, quite a few laughs and were in good company. while i'm extremely thankful for having had so much fun, i don't think that this should be done only once a year... i really don't see this guy enough. perhaps that will change?
